Pictures of My Cat’s Hobby!

This is Patch. He loves to come and open a drain on the kitchen floor. He somehow opens it all by himself.  He’s waiting patiently to see if he can see or hear any bugs moving.

He’s willing to wait patiently for more than thirty minutes.

How cute is that?! I had a dream last night about a cat that looked almost identical to this one. I recently found out that one of my four dogs has learned how to open doors. He’s the biggest of the lot, simply jumps up with his paws on the knob, then bears his weight down ’til the knob “slips”. I’d often wondered why closed doors would open while we were away from home – until one night one of the smaller dogs locked herself in the bathroom. The kids and I were watching a movie when we heard the little dog yelp, but before I could get to my feet, I saw Odin, the hound, trot down the hallway and do his thing, opening the door to set her free. I’m tempted to say I’m amazed at how smart or skilled animals can be, but in truth, I don’t find it surprising at all!

    You have a beautiful cat!

    Blessings,

    W

    Dear W.,

I just wanted to thank you for looking at my blog and reading about my cat. I absolutely loved your story about your two dogs! Thanks for sharing it. I think most animals are a lot more intelligent than many people give them credit for.

    Best regards,

animals are funny…I wrote something about our dog, Lexie, on my blog as my heart soooo hard towards animals until I gave into Nikole a year ago. : ) It’s funny, now when I see animals I am not afraid to touch them and don’t get as grossed out.
by the way, deven got the excellent handwriting award for his class. His handwriting is beautiful because of your hard work (didn’t inherit that from me, I have horrible handwriting). He also ended up with all a’s and 2 b’s. very proud considering he just had to jump into school.
bet you are ready for your holiday.
    love,Kristen

  5. I love cats!

Your cat looks fairly similar to my previous cat, Tigris.

That’s interesting, Raj. I find the cats here in Morocco look quite different (in the facial shape) than they do in America. The cats here have what we from America think of as an “Egyptian” look, a bit longer in the face. American cats have a rounder, flatter face. Perhaps the cats we have here in North Africa have spread from Asia, or the Asian cats from Africa, who knows?

I like your blog and love your cat. I did mention some things about steam canning in the comments to that post that you commented on. I enjoy doing those things that are really getting to be lost arts, like bread making, cheese making and the like. I would like to try soap making, but am afraid of lye.

Thanks for visiting and I am sure I will be visiting you again as well!
